Dr. LJ Phahlamohlaka
Dr. Jackie Phahlamohlaka is a founder member of SEIDET and the current Chairman of its Board of Directors. To him, SEIDET is a platform for professional collaboration and giving back to society in pursuit of community development. With its illustrious record over three decades and the drive for renewal, Dr. Phahlamohlaka believes that SEIDET will become a Champion for the building of Smart Communities in Africa and other parts of the world.
Mr. JM Mabena
Mr. Mashaba Mabena joined Seidet in 1993 and is currently serving as the Secretary of its Board of Directors. He is resolutely convinced that the Seidet model of community development is an effective vehicle through which rural peoples’ lives can be truly advanced towards realistic sustainable development. His conviction stems from the fact that Seidet uses a progressively impactful participatory development approach when dealing with community development-oriented projects. For him, with the full implementation of its strategy, certainly, Seidet will be an international force to reckon with.
Mr. VL Mahlangu
Seidet is an organization that aims at improving the lives of people through education and training. To me, Seidet is one of the institutions that must be involved in transforming the education system of our country. The socio-economic challenges of a country can never be addressed if the education system is not informed by those challenges.
Mr. KP Nkambule
Mr. Khipha Nkambule is the co-founder of SEIDET who served as a tutor in the commercial stream during the early days of the project and was the very first Treasurer who served diligently for the first ten years of the project and managed the highest funding ever raised for the project that gave rise to the current building structure that was built for just below R2 million. He is currently a non-executive director who serves as a board member of SEIDET. SEIDET has been the springboard for community development and has over the years achieved this through living examples of students who are now playing a pivotal role in our society. The road ahead will give it even more traction by switching to digitalization that dovetails perfectly with the fourth industrial revolution that is no more the buzzword but a reality. SEIDET will definitely propel the 4IR to greater heights.

I am the Deputy Chairperson and as a member of the Board, I sit in the strategic alignment of the organisation. As Seidet we actively participate with each other and the community and that is where my love and passion lies.

Flomi Batjeleni Skosana, founder member of SEIDET. Former Chairperson of the organisation and currently a Board member. It is with a sense of pride to note the quality of professionals SEIDET has produced in the various fields, over the years it has been in existence. Second to none as a community developer in its area of operation, SEIDET has not only proved its ability to attract and produce visionary leaders, but it also, in the process, proved its resilience. This is mirrored in its current leadership and the leadership it has produced, from which the community has already begun reaping the benefits. It is for this reason that the organisation grew to become second nature to some of us. Current and future community development and SEIDET are inseparable.

What Seidet means to me: It is important for me to serve in a community organisation that is impactful and meaningful. Seidet provides an opportunity to be part of the solution to the community’s socio-economic challenges, through its programs aiming at bringing lasting impact to the community and the continent at large.
Ms. L. Magobholi
My Journey with SEIDET in 1999 when I was doing Matric at the SEIDET Vaalbank branch. The Saturday program added a valuable contribution to passing my matric as it supplemented what I could not get from the school. Once I passed my matric, I went to UP when I connected with another alumnus. That was also very comforting because I did not know anyone at that time. I started to volunteer my services there for 3 years and ended up serving in the Exco as a Treasurer. This added value to My CV when I started looking for a job upon my graduation and I, therefore, salute seidet for developing my philanthropic side and making me a competent and reliable person for the Corporate world.
